Japan: Dobby/Jacquard Attract Attention for Next S/S Season

Textile makers in the major weaving districts are encouraged by increasing demands for dobby, jacquard and other high density fabrics after long bad seasons, reflecting the recovery of domestic orders for the coming spring/summer seasons as well as exports. Even the Banshu-Ori weaving district, which experienced record lows last August has recovering orders centering on dobby and jacquard. Weavers say that 2-million yard production capacity of dobby is fully occupied until the end of December. Dobby weaving (300,000 yard/month) also is filled by orders. ...
