Snug though it is from the harshness of the world, a boarding school for privileged boys might be a perfectly fine setting for a movie exploring the moral lives of its characters. But that seems to be both the point and the blown opportunity of The Emperor's Club, an earnest drama that doesn't know what it's missing.
