Albert Finney warbling on Motown? Assuredly, there's not a lick of soul on this vanity disc - just heavily orchestrated, smooth vocal tracks. Finney does have a pleasant, warm voice that he employs in the sing-songy spoken manner of middle-aged actors suddenly given to pursuing musical careers. And he did write the lyrics to all 12 tunes.

Eight of the 12 songs are the pondering love songs one would expect from a man in the throes of his second divorce ("I'm sorry that I shouted"). But ...
