GILGAMESH; Lessons from an ancient story
|
It has a king who is two-thirds god, one-third man; another guy is half man/half beast. There are several monsters, several gods, and a lot of heroic adventure stuff - monster slaying, trips to the underworld, magic elixirs, etc. Friendship, devotion, and pathos figure prominently. Throw in an animal sidekick - like a surly camel, or gabby crow - and Gilgamesh, the oldest written story ever found, has the potential to become a hit Disney cartoon. Sigh.
