Coffee giant Nestle decided to get out of the whole-bean coffee business a few months ago, creating a void among supermarkets that sold Nescafe whole-bean varieties. Many supermarkets would have to replace the Nescafe brand with a whole-bean selection from either Millstone, the only remaining giant, or possibly from one of the hundreds of local coffee bean roasters that dot the landscape.
