Taylor Engineering Inc. to design air-cargo apron

Taylor Engineering Inc., of Spokane, has landed a nearly $564,000 contract to design a new multi-use air-cargo apron at Spokane International Airport and to provide construction-management services when the apron is built.

The apron, expected to cost more than $3 million, will be an 8.5-acre paved surface stretching from the east side of the airport's runways to the Spokane International Airport Business Park. It will provide space for moving, loading, and unloading airplanes, and was needed to handle increasing volumes of air freight at the airport and to encourage growth in shipping there, ...
