Ah, "A Dybbuk."
As your professional ethnic theatergoer of the last 2 1/2 years, I have a confession to make: Jewishness was never supposed to matter. In New York City today, there is no shortage of Jews in the theater (you may have noticed this), and no shortage of Jewish plays. The sheer fact of representation should count for nothing.
And yet something gnaws at me. Lately, I want to see Jews. I want the chance to see them on stage as often as possible ...
