FRONT ROW: Hare's Israel; combining the intellect and the emotions
I KNOW THE FEELING because I've been there and, in a sense done that. some years ago, while living in London, I took a tourist's trip from England to Israel, and back, just like British playwright David Hare did in 1997.
And that's why I found his description of the culture shock which he experienced particularly apt.
