Pictographs draw us back to the past
CANMORE
Pictographs found near Canmore are just one example of a bridge back through time to a people who lived, traded and hunted in the area thousands of years ago.
The drawings on the rocks high above the Canmore townsite are believed to have been painted by members of the Kootenay Indians thousands of years ago. An actual dating of the drawings has not been taken on the pictographs, keeping their age and their meaning somewhat of a mystery.
