Julius Kambarage Nyerere, 1922-1999: He was second only to Nelson Mandela as the most eminent African leader of our time.
Julius Kambarage Nyerere, the giant of the African liberation movement and the father of Tanzania, died in London this past October after a long battle with leukemia. He was 77 years old.
