JBHE Readers Select the Most Important African Americans of the Twentieth Century
IN THE SUMMER ISSUE of JBHE, we reported the results of our survey of black journalists on the news events of the twentieth century that they considered to be the most important to African Americans.(*) The overwhelming consensus was that the 1954 Supreme Court decision in Brown v. Board of Education had the greatest impact on African Americans than any other event of the century.
We turn now to our questionnaire directed to determining "the most important African Americans of the twentieth century." ...
