The long history of African American lawyers.

The history of African Americans involved in the field of law is rich and full, and dates back to the nineteenth century.

Outstanding African American attorneys such as George B. Vashon, a teacher and pre civil was New York lawyer, and John M. Langston, one of Howard University's first law school Deans gained wide recognition for their work in the time mid 1800's.
