Canadian Hillel Fighting Ban: Threatening lawsuit against Montreal university known for bashing Israel

Members of Concordia University's Hillel are accustomed to defending Israel's right to exist. But now this Montreal institution's lone Jewish group is going to court to defend its own right to exist.

In a late-night 8-1 vote during exams last week, the Concordia Student Union -- long a harsh critic of Israel -- agreed to bar Concordia's Hillel from campus. The decision freezes the Hillel funds and forbids the group from assembling at the university for any purpose.
