Pernicious Amendment

There's a good reason why almost every Jewish organization has lined up to oppose a "religious freedom" amendment to the Constitution sponsored by Rep. Ernest Jim Istook: the amendment - which says that the government cannot abridge the right to religious observance in public places - is unnecessary and dangerous, not to mention deceptive.
