Nigeria puts brave face on loss of Bakassi
|
NIGERIA--Nigerian leaders put a brave face on a loss of oil-rich territory to Cameroon, saying the World Court ruling in favor of its eastern neighbor would not affect its oil and gas reserves.
But inhabitants of the Bakassi peninsula and Nigerian troops guarding them voiced anger and disbelief, with some vowing that last week's ruling by the U.N.'s top court could not stand.
