I recently completed reading a book authored by Louis Henry Gates and Cornell West, who are distinguished professors at Harvard University--Gates in history and West in religions/philosophy. The book, "Future of the Race," explores the intellectual genius of W.E.B. DuBois and his lifelong quest to address "The Negro Problem" in America.
Both West and Gates are scholarly and intellectual descendants of DuBois and have accepted the responsibility for rethinking his importance in American sociopolitical thought and reexamining his works. "The Soul of Black ...
