Rotary International's first Black president speaks here

When Sylvester Kaunda goes to his Rotary International meetings in Washington, Pa., he is usually the only Black in attendance. Yet the Zambia native feels welcome.

Even so, Kaunda said he was especially pleased to attend a regional meeting and banquet at the Green Tree Marriott March 7 because he was able to meet Rotary International President-elect Jonathan Majiyagbe, the first African president in the organization's 98-year history.
