Baker Electromotive Gets $24M USPS Contract
|
ROME-Baker Electromotive, Inc., will assemble 500 electric-powered postal delivery vehicles in a partnership with Ford Motor Company-an order worth $24 million and the largestever order for electric vehicles. Baker Electromotive is located in the Griffss Business and Technology Park on the former Griffiss Air Force Base.
The Baker/Ford team beat out Massachusetts electric carmaker Solectria, Inc., and General Motors for the contract.
