Editorial: Adam's Mark settlement doesn't mark the spot; Two Black journalists, two nations, one vision
Another large chain service organization is paying off Black folks for treating them like second-class citizens. Adam's Mark hotels is squeezing off $8 million in a settlement based on a case that stemmed from a Black college reunion in Daytona Beach, Fla., last April.
The breakdown of the monies works like this: The St. Louis-based chain of luxury hotels will pay about $4.4 million to the hundreds of African-Americans who attended the event and who participated in the class-action lawsuit. ...
