Those who think a programme of music from the Italian seicento and West European Baroque periods might be somewhat tiring to the ear were quickly disabused of such a notion by the recital at the Purcell Room on 21 September by The Musicke Companye, one of the most gifted and more musically intelligent of all the early music groups currently before the public.
