ABSTRACT

We report a rare condition of a rupture of the musculotendinous junction of the flexor pollicis longus. A 42-year-old healthy woman complained of pain in the forearm and inability to flex the IP joint of her left thumb immediately after she tried to turn on a light. We found the flexor pollicis longus tendon ruptured at the musculotendinous junction and performed tendon transfer.
