The National Railway Museum prize, of up to L250, is awarded annually by the Journal of Transport History to the writer of an unpublished essay based on original research into any aspect of the history of railways or any other mode of transport. The prize is intended for younger scholars or recent entrants to the profession and may be awarded to the writer of one outstanding paper or may be divided between two or more entrants.
