The Marsh Institute for government and public policy at Shenandoah University is in the hunt for the presidential debates scheduled for October 2000. According to Executive Director Bill Shendow, the school is on the short list of 16, a list that will be narrowed down to eight sometime this month and the final four in January.
"We are the only site in the mid-Atlantic still in the running and the only one in Virginia," said Shendow. "We have the facilities for it; they've been here at the school and told us so."
