I would be hard pressed to live without OCR software. No matter how many edits are necessary to a scanned document, it beats keying in pages and pages of text.

When I received FineReader 4.0 from ABBYY USA and read ABBYY's claim that its character recognition software "doubles recognition levels on poor quality documents," I hunted down the poorest quality fax I could find.
