Andrew Samuel began his career as a management trainee on the graveyard shift at Elby's Big Boy, an all-night diner in Camp Hill "That was probably the best time to try to learn to manage people," Samuel said. He had to keep staff motivated as inebriated patrons poured in for a bite after the bars closed.
The overnight shift also was the best time for someone looking for a bank job. Samuel said he would schedule interviews from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. He eventually landed a position at the former Commonwealth National Bank.
