By his publication of Abraham in the Negev, Alexander adds to his corpus of sourcecritical studies in the Abraham cycle, begun with his Ph.D. dissertation (Queens University, Belfast, 1982) and since followed by articles on portions of the Abraham narratives (e.g. sister-wife "doublets," Hagar-Ishmael "doublets").
