Vital statistics give poor picture of West Virginian's lifestyles

CHARLESTON--Despite on-going educational efforts, West Virginians continue to be more at risk for some forms of chronic disease, according to information released by the state Department of Health and Human Resources.

In a separate report prepared by the department, West Virginians also fall short of a healthy lifestyle in a number of behavioral risk areas such as nonuse of seatbelts, hypertension, obesity, tobacco use and alcohol use.
