More Grand Forks women are spending their clothes money out of town, according to data from the state tax department and a study conducted by a UND professor.
Taxable sales reported by Grand Forks women's' clothing stores dropped 37 percent between 1994 and 1997, according a study conducted by UND professor Lowell Goodman.
Meanwhile, taxable sales Fargo women's clothing stores have increased 17 percent over the same period, according to data from the North Dakota Tax Commissioner's office.
