Main library's $35 million expansion

Downtown Toledo has received another booster shot for its revitalization efforts with the long-awaited announcement plans for the expansion and renovation of the Main Library.

The planned construction will not only create a new architectural jewel for the Toledo landscape, but will preserve the historic beauty of the existing building.

"The old and new will mesh aesthetically and functionally into a new library complex that will truly bring both pride and service to all residents of Lucas County," Library Director Clyde Scoles said in announcing the renovation.
