Jim Amador used the Internet to maneuver out of rough waters.
Amador, market research manager for the Port of Tacoma, Wash., had scant information on a Korean prospect, so he jumped on the Net to do a little research. What he landed on was a World Wide Web page of the Korean company.
Using the information from the prospect's Web site, Amador built a sales presentation that included a downloaded picture of the company's chairman.
