SCC grads fill health-sector employment ranks

Disillusioned with the prospects of getting a four-year degree and entering the job market, Kim Davis, of Spokane, dropped out of college 21 years ago to join a rock band. It turned out to be the best career move he ever made.

While Davis was with the rock group, a fellow band member left to enter Spokane Community College's cardiovascular technology program. Later, when Davis left the band, he also enrolled in the two-year program.

While he was still at SCC, Davis was hired by Deaconess Medical Center to run electrocardiographs (EKGs), devices that produce tracings of heart muscle activity. ...
