Gould v. Huxley agnosticism

It was nice to see the Thomas Huxley observation at the end of Massimo Pigliucci's excellent article,"A Case Against God" in Vol. 6 No. 2, 1998, of SKEPTIC, because of his discussion of Stephen Jay Gould's article on "Nonoverlapping Magisteria" (NOMA) in Natural History Gould calls himself an "agnostic" and I am quite sure that Huxley would not have accepted Gould's NOMA.
