WITH THE URGENCY OF PROBLEMS such as pollution and climate change, it may seem strange to suggest that students write poetry, particularly those smallest, most concentrated forms of verse called haiku. In haiku you will find no despairing comments on the state of the planet, nor will you find comments on the awesome wonder of it all. What you will find is an expression of what someone has sensed very intensely at one moment in time.
