In praise of the litmus test
|
Okay-quick!-what's a "litmus test?" Who has them, and are they good or bad?
If you've been getting your news from America lately, the answers are: 1) A requirement that nominees to the Supreme Court be ready and willing to strike down Roe v. Wade, 2) Only Republican presidential candidates are capable of having "litmus tests," and 3) They are bad bad things to impose, disqualifying really-at least in the view of editorial writers and television producers across America who would never vote for any Republican, anyway.
