Two Chicago-based banker education groups, IFE and BAI, to merge

The Institute of Financial Education (IFE) is being merged into the Bank Administration Institute (BAI). Although both organizations will retain their names, the merger will become effective July 1, with full integration expected by the end of the year. IFE will operate as a separate subsidiary of BAI. Both are non-profit organizations, based in Chicago.

"This is a natural step for both organizations," said Thomas P. Johnson Jr., president and chief executive officer of BAI. "It will enable BAI to diversify its product line and reinforce its leadership position in the marketplace, ...
