Alcatel Space pursues expanded role as operator

CEO Jean-Claude Musson explains how the new company aims to become a major player in satellite operations without competing with its own satellite customers

Following the selection of Alcatel as strategic partner for the privatisation of Thomson-CSF, and the transfer to Thomson-CSF of the satellite activities of Aerospatiale, in exchange for a 4% share in the defence electronics group, the long-expected regrouping of the satellite activities of Alcatel, Aerospatiale, Thomson-CSF and Cegelec has materialised.
