US feldspar production in 1998 was an estimated 800 kt (880,000 st) with a value of $40 million, f.o.b. plant.

The amount of feldspar sold or used in the United States was an estimated 900 kt (990,000 st), about the same as in 1997. Output included flotation concentrates, feldspar content in feldspar-silica mixtures, potash feldspar and aplite.

North Carolina was the largest producing state with about 46% of the US total. Other producing states were California, Georgia, Idaho, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Virginia. Eleven companies had 13 mine/plant operations. Another company had a grinding ...
