Having worked in the psychology, counselling and hypnotherapy field for nearly 20 years, I have often had the experience of having a "run" of a specific problem with a number of clients for a week or two. As an example, for the last few weeks I have seen several adult survivors of child sexual abuse. The same phenomenon has occurred for this issue of the journal. Quite independently, we received a run of four papers on ego state therapy. Therefore, we have decided to make this a special edition of the journal, focusing on ego state therapy.
