Orange County police officer posed as AP photographer to observe demonstration

A Westminster police officer posed as an Associated Press photographer in February to infiltrate a crowd of protesters gathered at a Little Saigon video store in Orange County.

The police chief apologized to the AP and said he will make sure officers know they are prohibited from impersonating journalists.

During a protest over a store's display of a Ho Chi Minh poster in an Orange County Vietnamese community, an undercover Westminster police officer used fake Associated Press credentials in order to blend into the crowd.
