The U.S. government has negotiated a satellite communications services contract that will ensure that U.S. facilities in foreign lands are not adversely affected by Y2K disruptions in the host nation, regardless of how bad these disruptions may be. The agreement, an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, will, for the first time, give government agencies and other entities, the ability to purchase satellite services of any nature and in small quantities at a pre-negotiated price through the General Services Administration (GSA).
