To identify and meet the networking requirements of automotive body assembly manufacturing, auto manufacturers, robot suppliers, and weld controller suppliers recently met to form a ControlNet Special Interest Group (SIG). Held at the office of ControlNet International member McNaughton-McKay (Detroit), the initial meetings emphasized development of device profiles and conformance test plans for robotic controllers and weld controllers.
