ADM to close Walhalla plant

WALHALLA, N.D.--The ADM Corn Processing ethanol plant here will close this month, putting some 50 people out of work less than a year after the ethanol factory reopened.

Archer Daniels Midland Co., the plant owner, informed local officials of the decision early this week. The plant is scheduled to close the last week of May, according to Martin Andreas, ADM senior vice president.

The plant had been closed for about three years before reopening in August 1998.
