An American luthier adopts the capital of Italian violin making as his second home
FRANCIS KUTTNER REMEMBERS the first time he saw the legendary "G" violin form, one of the surviving templates that Antonio Stradivari used to construct some of his most famous instruments. "It was like seeing the wonders of the Wizard of Oz-there it was, and with the curtain still drawn," he adds with a laugh.
