Founders leave Ezekiel, which foresees sales gains

There's been a big shakeup at Irvine-based Ezekiel Clothing.

Founders Vince De La Pena and Shane La Voie, who started the brand a decade ago out of their garages, and Royce Cansler, who came onboard as part owner in 1997, recently left.

A new management team has been assembled, according to Ezekiel majority owner Steven Kurtzman, chief executive of Chula Vista-based American Fashion Inc., which began financing Ezekiel's growth about three years ago.

"They had been helping to transition the business," Kurtzman said of the founders and Cansler. "They had been planning to resign for a while."
