The last unsolved great mystery of the second world war is why Rudolph Hess, Hitler's deputy, flew to Britain on 10 May 1941. There have been numerous books and endless speculation on the subject. The key relevant documents are closed in the Public Record Office for another 18 years and until these files are opened speculation will continue. In this book Harris and Trow produce an interesting theory, perhaps rather far-fetched, but without the closed documents they cannot be shot down.
