Older people at risk: Issues and intergenerational responses
|
Although many individuals in their 80s and 90s are still vigorous and active, getting older means being at risk of developing one or more chronic illnesses or disabilities. Conditions such as arthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes, and osteoporosis may not be immediately life-threatening, but they often limit or severely curtail one's activities and ability to be selfsufficient.
