'Fair at work' union recognition seen as anachronistic
|
Employers believe that good industrial relations has moved beyond the narrow confines of union recognition, according to new research by the Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD) published in the latest issue of People Management.
With the launch of the Fairness at Work Bill, the IPD's research highlights employers' reactions to new legislation on trade union recognition. The focus group based research shows that employers are more progressive in their approach to industrial relations than the government might assume.
