Treatment of thrombocythemia due to myeloproliferative disorders Anagrelide HCI

The FDA has expanded the indication for the platelet-reducing agent anagrelide HCl capsules from patients with essential thrombocythemia to patients with thrombocythemia secondary to myeloproliferative disorders; in this expanded patient population the agent is again indicated to reduce elevated platelet counts and the risk of thrombosis and to ameliorate associated symptoms, including thrombohemorrhagic events.
