NRC seeks comments on regulation for low-radioactivity materials

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will hold a public workshop at its headquarters building in Rockville, MD, May 21 and 22, as part of its effort to seek additional comment on alternatives for controlling the disposition of solid materials that originate in certain areas of NRC-licensed facilities and that may contain no or very small amounts of radioactivity. The workshop will present for discussion alternative approaches addressed in earlier public sessions.
