Every bass player has a sound and a style they like to call their own. A way of playing that is ultimately personal to them and that defines in some small way the way they play their instrument. For many players the idea of progress is all about finding that style, the one that suits them best and refining it until it becomes something unique to them, or at least hoping that over time, this sense of style develops itself.
